A well known Liverpool footballer as lost his life in a car crash , along with his brother.

He was driving a Lamborghini ice vehicle which blew a tire and exploded into a fireball upon impact .

This is very sad and tragic , but - contrary to elsewhere on the web - I don't think it's disrespectful to wonder if he would now be alive had he been driving a modern SUV . Even an electric one .

I think he would .

If you accept the butterfly effect then any number of things could have changed the outcome of that incident.

A pointless question really. They are both dead and nothing can change that. :(

Maybe, just maybe it might have happened in a VW beetle. How fast were they going? Young very wealthy men... any drugs?
Sorry if that's prejudiced and nasty
Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

Well I think the question is valid. All safety progress happens with such a question. But fast cars crash. Kinetic energy is proportional to the square of speed. I would be surprised if a tire failed on its own, but shit happens. It's long been known that driving to an airport is more dangerous per mile than flying.
I think the main reason why Europeans no longer want to travel to the USA is the big time difference. For me, it's now 7pm. In the USA it's now 1933.

He was overtaking at speed , what speed is yet to be determined.

The blown tire appears to be a product of the condition of the road and speed

I don't think anything but a high speed , ice supercar would have exploded and disintegrated in such a fashion .
