electric cars use a converter that draws current from the large battery pack, topping it up. In some cars, a small solar panel can also be used to add a trickle charge to the 12-volt battery. Also, when an EV is plugged into a wall socket or fast charger, the 12-volt battery is usually charging at the same time.

"'The car park that caught fire at Luton Airport will have to be "fully demolished", the airport confirmed.

The fire broke out on level three of Terminal Car Park 2 on 10 October and was thought to have started in a diesel car before spreading rapidly."

It's telling, that they (the media) are still saying "thought to have started in a diesel car". Surely someone must know for certain, and why are they not being specific ?

Also, I've not seen anything else regarding the man arrested (and released on Police bail) in regard to criminal damage.

Might it be due process/diligence, whereby the investigating authority will conduct a full, objective and evidence based review before reaching any conclusions or making any recommendations?
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Yes, of course Ray.

But, in that case, why make any comment at all ?

You reported conjecture in the media.
It was not aimed at you Ray, just official news sources.

I know Phil, but you miss the point I was making - as far as I'm aware there has not been any concluson released by the official investigators, so the comments you were lamenting are just media conjecture - they do it to fill column inches.

It seems there was a car park fire at Bristol airport yesterday.

There are YouTubers asking "was it an EV ?" As it was "quickly put out" it seems doubtful to be an EV.

The BBC report has no mention of the cause.

What stupidity ?

I made reference to a BBC news report, and that some were suggesting it was an EV.

Not my opinion, when facts are made known comment may follow, but you can give credence to whosoever you want.

Could be.

Still making space to get that project going again, and I am in credit with my electricity provider.

Bus operator Go-Ahead is carrying out safety checks on almost 400 electric buses after one was involved in a fire in south-west London.

The bus caught fire at Putney bus garage, Chelverton Road, on Wednesday morning. No-one was injured and the cause is being investigated.

A letter to staff from Go-Ahead says a "precautionary" check of about 380 electric buses had begun to "ensure our continued confidence in them".

Seems this is the 3rd one recently.
