#17 Re: RideLondon
A week today I'll be on the road in central London - I'm getting quite excited now as it will be quite special to ride with 24,999 other cyclists!
Thanks for the donations chaps, they're very much appreciated.
It's still not to late to help me raise funds for the British Heart Foundation and to help me reach my fund raising target.

Indeed Mark, it's getting close now! Travelling up late Saturday afternoon and staying just inside the M25 so a nice easy drive into Central London for the early start. If the weather forecast turns out to be correct there will be a good tailwind when I turn for the return leg.
I did a 25mile ride after work today but will be winding down now, a short easy ride tomorow and then walks Fri and Sat.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Not long now, this time tomorrow I'll be inside the M25
Today I exceeded my £500 fundraising target too.

Have fun Ray, we've just traveled back from Lincolnshire and saw the matrix signs warning about road closures due to the Ride London event.

From the 'London Cycling' Facebook site;
"Riding around, like they own the road, 2 or 3 abreast, not pulling over to let cars pass.
No hi-viz, lights or insurance and they don't even pay road tax.
They weren't even using the cycle lane that has cost taxpayers millions and just takes away road space from cars, making London even more polluted and congested.
The sooner they get taken off the road the better. Only a matter of time before one of them gets run down, with the way they're all over the place and not looking at what's behind them."
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

My neighbour Steve thoroughly enjoyed his ride. I bumped into him just now. He's off to the chippie cos that's what he fancies. All power to his enthusiasm Says I.

He's probably pissed and eating chips in some dodgy part of London.
I know I would be if I could ride a 100ft in one day.
