That looked fun, cycles aren't usually allowed in the Limehouse link IIRC but on my old motorcycle commute through it you'd occasionally see some brave sole giving it a go!

There's a brilliant cycle route called CS3 that takes you over both the Limehouse link entrance and Brunel's Rotherhithe tunnel in the space of about 50ft. I always used to stop and gawp when I rode that section.

Rotherhithe Tunnel aaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh! I've cycled a few times into that dark dismal stench filled horror hole and paid for it by handing over my immortality- well who wants to live forever.....

Work was in Biw. Home was East Dulwich, in those days.

Good pics Ray.

Are you riding here on the road bridge that links to the Isle of Dogs from Blackwall?

Pretty sure that image was taken on the Lower Lea Crossing Dave, you can match it up in Google Streetview.

Yep, That's the place I meant, I really like that section where it runs parallel to the DLR rail line. Fast, smooth, sheltered and flat until you come to the Lea crossing bridge. That was part of my old Dirtfud to Holborn cycle commute .

I'm glad that they put that big explanatory sign up - it would have been very confusing otherwise,,,

Anyway Mr. Bass, you've got a year to train for RideLondon 2023 (and to get your passport sorted so you can ride in Essex).

I'd be screwed at the feed station there - would end up waiting around for the bananas to ripen.
Nice shots of you on the ride, Ray. Were you always out on your own, or at the front of the bunch - cos that makes your time even more impressive !

I've just been out and repeated my 37.5m ride from Saturday. Same effort level, average pulse one beat lower ( 140 ) , and 10 minutes quicker, at 2hr49min.
