#1 Transformer design book

Post by Cressy Snr »

Here’s a book that shows you how to design power, output and interstage transformers for your valve amp project.

No idea if it’s any good and it’s expensive but it might be useful, if you're prepared to fork out 79 quid.

Are you a member of the local library ?

If so do an online search for that book on the library web site, they may have it somewhere. There used to be a way to search libraries nationwide.

PS I can't see the book name.

I used to be a member of the library but haven’t been in twenty years.

I don't even get a logo to click on. :?

PS If I refresh the page, the logo flashes up then disappears.

You may be able to order it at your local library if you join, that way you don't have to fork out for it.

I tried Bradford, Doncaster and Suffolk library catalogues - no joy.

I understand one can request a non stocked book.

Steve, if you really think that book will help your quest I'd be prepared to put £10 towards the cost for you. :)

Cheers Phil,
I don’t really need such a book. I just thought it might be interesting if others wanted to explore building their own transformers. But thanks for the thought.
Sourcing bobbins, laminations, wire and winding machines is not something I can be arsed with.
The conversion to SE of the PP transformers is one of those flashes of insight I have, that usually end in tears.
I don’t expect this one to be any different.
