Yes, I read that, I wish him luck. Can’t say I like the look of it or the bit of string finger lift but it’s an interesting design.
Only the Sith deal in absolutes.

Is it the Spyder version?of string finger lift
Had a quick skip, mentions a patent, is there a number in there anywhere? Hopefully that would explain the idea better.

It was mentioned that he would be applying, haven’t seen any confirmation though.

Not much

Problem, with that is I think he has published enough for someone to make something based on that website and refute any patent application.Ali Tait wrote: Thu Mar 18, 2021 6:31 pm It was mentioned that he would be applying, haven’t seen any confirmation though.
Its easy to say but much harder to do without money for lawyers.

Yes agreed, might have been better to lay things a bit closer to his chest.

Wouldn't that make it really hard to play the records though if he laid a turntable on his chest?Ali Tait wrote: Thu Mar 18, 2021 7:16 pm ......might have been better to lay things a bit closer to his chest.
I'm not 100% you've thought this one through matey!

He’s probably going for an implementation patent, unfortunately anyone can make a slight modification/improvement to circumvent it. Putting the patent challenges aside- not sure I like the idea as the filament isn’t under tension, unless you used a magnet to stabilise it, pulling it down. Yes the triangular filament removes side load only if it can slide over the hook friction free.

We had a Mitsubishi vertical turntable back in the 80’s bought from Laskys..... linear tracker too.. I remember there were a lot of weird turntables back then... it was on offer so my parents bought it

On that subject, anyone else remembers the Juke Boxes that had the record vertical with an arm for each side?
