Problem,with that is I think he has published enough for someone to make something based on that website and refute any patent application.

Its easy to say but much harder to do without money for lawyers.

He’s probably going for an implementation patent, unfortunately anyone can make a slight modification/improvement to circumvent it. Putting the patent challenges aside- not sure I like the idea as the filament isn’t under tension, unless you used a magnet to stabilise it, pulling it down. Yes the triangular filament removes side load only if it can slide over the hook friction free.

We had a Mitsubishi vertical turntable back in the 80’s bought from Laskys..... linear tracker too.. I remember there were a lot of weird turntables back then... it was on offer so my parents bought it
