All the human shit in the land if processed would supply just 5% of the UK’s aviation fuel needs

I saw that, but removing shit alone would be good, just need some waterproof packing to send it in.
Give Evri the contract, they are a shit courier.
Seriously, even 5% would be worthwhile, depending on the cost.

We can save 15% on aviation fuel by just flying slower……. Commercial do it, the door to door time could be the same if we just got rid of the money fleecing airport experience, and reduced the time waiting around in an airport.

I don't fly very often, but last time I did the Terminal experience at Manchester airport (outgoing in particular) was not pleasant. Palma de Mallorca was not too bad.
I see Barcelona airport is called Barcelona-El Prat.

We flew out from Manchester for a quick getaway over Christmas and the experience, which is usually dire at best, has been improved by the use of the new 3D scanners. Luckily for us we got shunted into the one line that went through the new scanners as it appears to be a "trial" at present.
All stuff left in the carry-on bags, no more pulling out everything and then getting your bag shunted off to be inspected and panicking as you fear you'll miss your flight. It was very, very slick - through the security in record time. Now if only these scanners were in use everywhere the whole experience would be a lot more pleasant. Still not great but an improvement.

Surprised Phil, hasn’t been all over this, an EV bus fire in London https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-67944657

I heard about a diesel bus that caught fire out around here a little while back, it was long enough ago that I can't remember the specifics of when/where but, curiously, it didn't make the BBC News page?
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Diesel buses catching fire was a weekly occurrance in Oldham , immediately after privatisation .

Exactly! If you accept the evidence from Neal’s YouTube link above, the media emphasis on EV fires is nothing more than fashionable yet ignorant bias.

Interesting. For contrast, consider that in another cold place, Norway, 87% of new cars sold last year were EV’s with the Tesla Model Y being the most popular. Currently over 20% (and increasing) of all cars on the road in Norway are EV’s.jack wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 8:29 am Chargers or batteries....
