The Quasars would need to be redesigned to take advantage of the SB 15 inchers... And would end up bigger.... Ideally wider, deeper and taller...
Yep, it would be back to where I am with the Emanance I guess.

I know you have talked enthusiastically about some full range field coil drivers you have listened to in the past at one the shows you attended. So, if I were you, I'd call in one those favours from Dave Slagle and see if he can be persuaded to do a conversion on the spare pair PM6 silver Lowther's you have.

I for one would love to hear what these could do on the acrylic baffles. I reckon they could be a bit special with the Supravox that we know are very good bass/midrange drivers and work well on the existing Quasar baffles.

As an aside - I really like the SB drivers and I have used the 12" & 10" drivers in sub-woofers very successfully. My TV speakers use the a 12" SB mono sub with two Mark Audio fullrange satellites crossed over at about 150Hz and they work really well here - although if you listen critically the tone and speed difference between the SB sub and the MarkAudio drivers is clear..
It will be really interesting to hear how the OB specific 18" sounds...

Hi Nick
The following substance will be a good candidate to use to alleviate a concern for a scratch.
BMW use it on removable roof inset window panels, I am sure it will be good enough for the Quasar Baffle

TPU for Scratch-Resistant Flexible Windows
GEBA Kunststoffcompounds GmbH uses highly scratch-resistant TPU Texin DP 3041
