I got it Ray , Phil it’s time to get your coat .

Phil doesn't seem to have the ability to see through irony and humour. Unless of course it comes with a or emoticon at the end and even then that emoticon most never (to me) seems to fit the words when he uses it.

If I had perspex ob’s made I’d also ask for clear perspex! No emoticons required as I speak plain and clear, if misinterpreted, its only by the many people in the modern world making sport of being offended, I refer you to Stephen Fry if you're offended as he said it better than any way I could say it.

I don’t think anybody is offended by them merely expressing a preference.
Are you related to Phil ?

I've had my lineage looked into and it seems I am a VERY distant relative to one of the bastard daughters of King John.Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 4:37 pm I don’t think anybody is offended by them merely expressing a preference.
Are you related to Phil ?
But no evidence of any connection to Paul.

"What are the chances that someone is descended from royalty but they don't know it?
"It is mathematically certain that there exists a point in our past when everyone alive at that time either 1. became the ancestor of everyone living today or 2. of no one living today. Estimates as to when that time is vary by mathematical model—it's between 5,000 and 15,000 years ago, but our single most recent common ancestor may have been from 3,500 years ago.
Since there was royalty at that time, everyone is descended from royalty.
If we exclude 7 million people from the most isolated populations, like Sentinel Island, the date becomes earlier. It also still covers over 99% of us—and probably 100% of those of us who care about royalty.
Royalty probably existed before writing, but if you insist on a named king, look through the lists of monarchs in Sumeria or Old Kingdom Egypt and you have found some ancestors. They generally had a lot of children and all of them will not have had their lines die out. All it takes, following the math, is for a large pool of great-great-great-great grandchildren to have just one or two members go elsewhere, and for this process to repeat at a slow roll until now. People move. People mix.
The probability of royal ancestry decreases as the number of generations since the royal decreases. Your descent from a 10,000 year old king is certain. Your descent from a 1,000 year old king is likely. Your descent from a 50 year old king is unlikely, but you could ask your mother."
Assuming you are the same species, its likely that you are related to Paul.

Looking at it another way, if you make the crude assumptions that a generation is about thirty three years and that if you go back n generations you have two to the power n ancestors, then a thousand years and thirty generations ago ago you had over a billion ancestors. Chances are that several of them were kings.
What will happen comes closer. What has happened goes further away.

Ever better chance when you realize that there were less than a billion people around at that time.then a thousand years and thirty generations ago ago you had over a billion ancestors. Chances are that several of them were kings.

It just seems apt. Can I mention Russell's Teapot now?
