Amazing. And amazingly little noise for ISO3200.

I did Phil, a part of the network I've not traveled on before, every train was bang on time and none were too crowded. Enjoyed the trip, listened to some podcasts and had a read.

By coincidence, last night and tonight I've been watching a train cab ride video between Exeter and Birmingham via Taunton, so may have been part of the line your train took.

Only for the first five miles, as far as Cogload Junction (near Durston), as my route today was via London - Taunton to Paddington, then Kings Cross to ooop Norf.

Yep, the A7S is getting a bit long in the tooth, but it’s still one of the best for low noise, high ISO.

I've just returned from my first proper outdoor ride of 2024 - 60miles around a very cold Somerset in the company of 14 colleagues and friends - just above freezing but thankfully mostly dry roads and no ice. The ride was to celebrate one of the friend's 40th birthday and for him the ride was '40 for 40' (he lives 10miles from me, hence the extra 20 miles for me). The icing on the cake was the birthday food and cake his wife had prepared for our return.

Been messing around with the ARM based casio watch accuracy after the first calibration against time.is worked out to be +40s / year…not bad.

So I’ve just re calibrated and hopefully it will be many weeks before the next. New firmware has been released to fix bugs so will be pulling it apart to reflash and add some other features. I’m not bored honest!

Makes a change from the clockwork ones :D - my dad used to do that as a hobby. According to mum, when he was in the army for WW2, couldn't just get anyone to fix a watch, so learned to do it himself. Kept doing it as a hobby ever since, and did repairs on watches and clocks for friends, family and work colleagues. Had masses of tools including a watchmakers lathe.
