I've just been looking at the Daphile website to check out its DSD support and it occurred to me that it might be of interest to chaps who are squeezebox/squeezelite users? It looks like a good solution if you've got a spare ol PC available.

Works with spare Macs too, our setup currently uses an old 2008 MacBook although the plan is to incorporate a NUC with a linear power supply later on.
Mostly controlled using Squeezepad, it works faultlessly, and most importantly it supports gapless playback which has been a frustration with every other solution I looked at up to now. The drive can be mounted on the network so that it’s visible to all the other machines, my wife has been doing all the CD ripping on her PC with Exact Audio Cooy, and is almost done now. We no longer have need for a CD player.
