I bet your right there Dave..
In the UK I'm sure we produced similar output valves but on the large b4 base in the 20s and 30s, I saw a guys collection of them a few years ago... very impressive, i can't remember the numbers though.
I thought at the time that the anodes looked too small for them to be really good, but it's also about what they are made of....
Those 50s have a similar look.

There were plenty of low power uk globe dht’s in radios and some twins used push pull. I Have some but can’t remember the numbers maybe lp2 is one my foggy mind just birthed to the conscious thoughts.
