Now I might be wrong/ spoiling it if I said this is pretty much an acoustic version of a cigar box guitar but I am impressed.

No but.....Im delayed at Heathrow airport dreaming of riffs, phrases notes and fabulous fret boards where my fingers are always in the right place at the right time - sort of Heisenberg thing....

You'll know the normal tuning - I don't! - this one uses G,G,B,E. Certainly wouldn't take long to master that but Voodoo Chile is what I saw, not on YouTube, - piece of piss, broubroug a smile to my lips.

Now I'm enjoying the extra security of Frankfurt Transit (anschlussfluge, I think) Security. That's quite as deep as I wish to go, danke shoen- uh.

Next stop? Next indignity? Travel broadens the mind, I have an extraordinarily large..... prompt ;------)

Not a Baritone Uke but last year I had a quick go on one of these, a Uke band turned up for a gig, they were setting up the PA and the 'bassist' pulls out this...

Those mahoosive fat strings reminded me of a 'thing' called the Ashbory bass from the mid 80's, I played one once and it was awful. I got chatting to the owner and he asked "wanna go?", so I did, it was flippin' great in fact through the PA. Sounded like a floppy dubba bass, it's fretless too but I could play it (rare).

It had such a great sound, impressed of Dartford.

I've seen similar on a takky acoustic bass, only played with it for a few minutes...long ago, can't remember what I thought of them....don't think they were aquila though cos I'm pretty sure they don't make them in meaningful lengths...

there are also the synthetic gut thingys with steel cores. they look similar but in reality a different kettle of fish. they do come in sexy colours though.
