When it comes to the Dyslexia, it is a very misunderstood condition, and due to this, there are many who spend periods of their lives traumatised by the way they are dealt with due to the experiences being endured.
There is a mountain to climb, to get the correct recognition and support available to those effected by the condition.

Can I just point out that DQ didn't say he was Dyslexic, he may be but I think Paul just decided he was.

Anyway Ant if you want some help with this arm I can at least find you a technics sl1200 to have a play with.

What armboard does your arm need? Standard Linn mount?

Yes that would be helpful thanks, if you have a scruffy one somewhere that would be ideal. I havent had either arm on anything but a lenco so who knows what it shounds like on something else

I found a local company i didnt know about that does chroming, they must do polishing in order to chrome stuff so that may be an avenue to persue. It came up ok polished with a buffing wheel and compound but the finish doesnt last long. dont know how chroming aluminium goes but chrome is abit shiny shiny for my liking. But is hardwearing. And people seem to like shiny shiny. A matt or satin finish is preferrable. There is always paint, but that chips off. Anodising would be ideal but there isnt anywhere local that does it.

Aluminium is expensive to chrome plate, brass is easier. If you don’t want shiny shiny a nickel coat may be more in order. Aluminium knobs for amps are polished and lacquered which will last well as no scuffing to speak of on a tonearm, which is easier if you don’t want to involve a 3rd party.

I would try and find somewhere that would anodize.

Maybe get it working on the techy first that may open a chance to make or get a batch made which might be worth an anodizer getting involved.

Fixed the wonky cueing action of the arm lift by adding a thin rubber strip to the top of the lift bar, now the arm doesnt drift as you lower it.

Simple cheap fix, the roll of thin rubber was only a quid

I’m against giving idiosyncrecies a name as justification .

My spelling on forums is poor because

I’m lazy
I’m using a phone with 1 hand ie , I have to hold the phone and type with my originally non dominant left hand .
