Just watched the highlights of today's stage,

Pidcock looked very good and, well, his descending - had my heart in my mouth at times. Great to see Froome riding so well too, he's up to 29th overall now.

Some respite for a few days now, until the Pyreneees. JV just needs to follow TP now but he'll be attacked so I'm excited to see how he copes with it.

Thomas is going well, I hope he can stay on the podium until Paris but there aren't big gaps to those just behind him.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Yes, what a joy of a day that was to watch. Where do you start ?
Maybe I'm most happy to see Froome instigate the breakaway and ride so brilliantly to 3rd on such a hard day, third big day in the Alps.
He must have been SO happy to be back and at the front on a classic stage.
Pidcock was fantastic, he's reminding me of Bernard Hinault.... but hopefully more honest !
Pogacar back to form.
Vingegaard super strong again, the new star.
Thomas showing no weakness either.

To me the only negatives of yesterday's stage (and generally) were the twats who ran alongside the leading riders with flags, flares etc.

Things to do and heat to avoid today so I headed out for a ride at 5:30am this morning - route was out over the Somerset levels where there was a glorious sunrise and a spooky mist - I should do early morning rides more often.

Another epic stage in the TdF that, short of anything extraordinary happening, wraps up the podium for 2022.

It's been the best for a few years I think.

Well I got it wrong in the end, but I thought it was worth a (verbal) punt !
Always something new in the Tour, never expected Vingegaard to be THAT good, didn't expect Pogacar to lose most of his team to illness and crashes.

I was just looking through ISM's Twitter and found this re-tweeted. Shows how hard it is for some of the sprinters to get through - sobering ...

I'm watching the mountain biking (Commonwealth games) on TV, looks like hard work to me.

I finished watching the Women's TdF highlights last evening - well worth it and will look out for more women's cycling coverage. What I really liked was that the final stage didn't finish in Paris, but at the top of a climb, the final 1Km of which was on gravel with gradients of upto 24%.

I'm a bit under the weather today so I watched live the second half of today's stage of the Vuelta a Burgos this afternoon. Beautifuk Spanish scenery, a very pedestrian pace (slow enough for a little while that I could probably hang onto the back of the peleton for a few Km) but it ended with a horrendous crash inside the last Km - downhill at about 70Kph, the hands of the third ride came off the bars over a speedbump - I imagine some serious injuries will emerge. The speed bump contravenes UCI regulations BTW.
