At 75 Robert Plant is a rock god. I can't imagine what he must have been like 50 years ago. Immense tonight.

and now really enjoying the Beatles at Auntie Beeb

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001s6kg

It's amazing to think that between 1963 and 65 the Beatles made 52 programmes for the BBC. In the programme above there's a reference to a show having 4hrs to record 6 songs by the Beatles, with interviews and on a programme budget of £100.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

I found this amusing. Not hilarious, but amusing.

George benson/earl klugh - collaboration on the oracle

Earlier today i did a recce run to the sheffield office for work, didnt know where that office was, and it wouldn't do to not be able to get there on monday morning.

So tidal on the phone and the sennheiser cans, listened to the victor wooton album, plus michael brecker - now you see it, and like minds - pat metheney, chick corea, gary burton, roy haynes and dave holland

Far cry from some of the shite you hear tizzing away from headphones, or the phones of yoofs at the back of the bus (those obnoxious gits who like to share) on public transport. Although what other passengers would think if they could hear my music i dread to think....

Onto earl klugh - soda fountain shuffle. On the oracle again

The Hollies - Love songs. 22 tracks.

CD, Music for pleasure - EMI

Playing on the main system with the 832a PP amp, my first born and still liked a lot. :D

PS Some of the recordings are a bit below par, but in general not affecting the nostalgic enjoyment. :)

Currently, State Azure, Modular Works I. Next, Modular Works II, probably. (At time of posting, actually.)

Yesterday, I was having a Level 42 sesh and started with importing the Level Best CD, which I've had for a long time. Then on playing it I remembered that it always did sound a bit woolly, and that hasn't changed with time (or even, a better DAC!)

So I had an idea and made up an identical playlist but taking the tracks from the original albums. Also I had to purchase a couple of singles to complete the list, but that did the job. Yes much more betterer - the difference is quite noticeable! So whoever 'remastered' the Level Best CD should have left them alone!
