I like the random pocket watch at bang on midday.

I thought that, but it looks to me that it has two hands.

Sorry for the delay, we've been away.
Top box is a source and output selector, HA = Headphone Amp, PA = Power Amp, SB = Squeezebox and PH = Phono.
Big box below is a stereo Sowter TVC.

Cinemag switchable SUTs for DL103r with DIY'd WD Phono 3 in background, PSU is a valve rectified and regulated in a separate box that was part of the 1st phono stage I brought to my 1st Eggborough (RIP)...

Julie's Grandad's pocket watch is there for no reason other than I like it.

Yes, though its not very exciting!simon wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2024 8:37 pm (Can we have a tour of all your boxes with knobs and labels? Looks fascinating.)

Apart from a range of shunted and un-shunted pots I've got nothing else to compare it too tbh, its the only TVC I own. It just 'works' like a stepped volume control should which is fine. Changing volume can cause temporary instability in my power amp I noticed many years ago. Our-Nick pointed out it could be acting as a tank circuit iirc, when the trappings are changed a pulse sets of LF oscillation but it reduces (Edit. 'damps', thats a better word maybe) very quickly. I only noticed it because the ammeters on the PSUs supplying the pre and power stages would flicker slightly.
I live with it.
