A nice find ! Make sure you find the grid and anode dissipator caps before doing anything ! I've done an amp with 834 which is the same as 4304 but has a large chunk of graphite as an anode . This ran in zero bias (grid at 0V) . Running at 65mA with James 6123HS on the 5k tap driven by a choke-loaded cathode follower driver , a good few watts is achievable . In this configuration a low impedence driver with plenty of current on tap is required . Never used these in A2 but would expect damping factor may be an issue as inevitably your Rload will be lower than your Ra . If you are lucky enough to afford them , Dave Slagle can provide a 15K SE OPTX with offset cancellation winding . Then you can run these in A1

Is that a 6080 you've got running as a cathode follower there?

The cathode follower is a 7236

Opps , not a 7236 , a 6BX7 is in the picture although I did use 7236 later on

Anyone else having trouble seeing some of the pics in this thread? For instance the pics in Steve's 1st & 3rd posts?
The rest of the forum all seems ok...

They were probably hosted on an ancient mac. Com server that is no longer there
