Nothing In Particular
#14401 Re: Nothing In Particular
Piking around, just a saying, maybe unique to this particular shithole of a town
Looking for something in various places when you have a vague idea of where it might be
Piking for, looking for something not exactly defined, i.e piking in the cupbards for something to eat.
Looking in the cupboards for a snack, some crisps or the jammy dodgers. You are not exactly sure what you want to eat but you will know when you see it

Yes, interested - is there any coverage of non-mainstream acts that's easy to access ?

Looking forward to the Waterboys tonight, on at the same time as McCartney but saw him the last time. Watched a bit of Crowded House then went to the Other Stage to see First Aid Kit who were great. Then a bit of the Undertones, left them to see Sam Fender who was playing on the Pyramid due to a cancellation. Great set and he was so overwhelmed he couldn’t speak, must be the biggest gig he’s played so far by a long way. Back to Acoustic tent to see Paul Heaton, then back to the Green Room bar which is backstage of Theatre and Circus, I know one of the site managers and he’s kind enough to get us passes every time we come. Glen Tilbrook was playing in there. Seen some of the best gigs here in there, only 2-300 people. The Beat used to play every year and it was always a great set. Alabama 3 were great too.

Cool, would have liked to see first aid kits set, and the beat when they were playing

The Beat were always epic. Saw a great local lad the last time who played two guitars at once, very impressive.

Just been watching Olivia Rodrigo as no 1 daughter is a fan. She was good. Nice to know that I can still relate to music made by a girl young enough to be my granddaughter. Also struck by the number of girls in bands making good music.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

I just watched the First Aid Kit set, and I'm immediately a fan and wonder why I never saw them before.
The track 'King of the World' has some of the best lyrics I've heard in years.

Macca's set would be very good if it wasn't for that leaden drumming.

Enjoyed the Blossoms, Foals, St Vincent, Sam Fender, Wolf Alice and First Aid Kit on Friday and err that’s been just about it apart from Jessie aware who’s on now for a bit of a party. Macca should have retired ages ago, even SWMBO said it’s very dated, good on him though at the age of 80!

Saw Sam Fender at the Emirates Stadium a few weeks back supporting the Killers (they where outstanding), At the time it was the biggest audience Sam had played to he was epic.

Saw him the last time he played and he was brilliant.
