Wow thanks for the link Greg! That's really handy :D

I dunno if your slate was nice and glossy and with nice gold coloured spikes on, that'd do for me. A big perspex dust cover to go over the lot when you're not using it, say, proper job. :)

Hi Mike,

Here is a couple of old pics of my Garrard. I use spikes now instead of those brass fittings and I now have a different arm. Anyway, shows the finish on the slate and the cover which can now be engraved with the Garrad badge as per the Origin Live example on the Red website.

that does look nice greg!

I need a cover for mine, they seem pretty reasonable price wise too!

Its not often i want something and can buy it for a price that doesnt tempt me to DIY.

It would probably cost half their price to make one and my efforts wouldnt look anywhere near as good.

Hi Greg,

One question has fascinated me about this cover, I have to ask, I am curious, what's to stop the cover getting knocked from the side, say by an over zealous dusting personage, and knocking into the arm and cart?

I've had the same cover for about 3 years I can't recommend them enough

really well made and the plastic hasn't discoloured at all

Hi Andrew,

Good question. We have no pets and my kids are now adult. I'm the only one who dusts it! The cover is made from thicker perspex than most covers and is larger so it's heavy. I have fitted small cork feet at each corner so it is non slip. I've not had any accident since I've had it.

Hi Mike/Andrew

I have a cover similar to Greg's (which he has seen) and it has the Garrard logo etched into it and I have to say it looks the dogs danglies. I would show a picture but am 1000 miles from the deck and will be till 11 Jan.

They (placticonline) fitted clear plastic (silicone) pads in the corners for the lid to sit one which protect the slate and are non slip. A fantastic job they made of it to. If you are still undecided when i get back i will post a picture.

Well, I'm afraid I've come a bit of a cropper...

18kG + 401 which needs lots of careful adjusting to get the fiddly bloody arm right is dread inspiringly heavy. I found lifting and trying to adjust just couldn't be done, then Sproinnng!!!!!! I've done my back in.

I hate it all and am off to Curry's to buy a new CD player.
