And it’s only taken them 53 years to work it out.

At the risk of blowing my own trumpet, this is what the TT2 plinth looks like underneath:

A lot of things advertised on YouTube are utter and total scams.

I think at this point we should be way past being surprised that people do stupid things and that other people have realized this and are taking advantage of that wherever possible. I think eventually some of us will have to accept that being rational (and certainly expecting rational choices from others) is maybe not the optimal strategy.
I think the main reason why Europeans no longer want to travel to the USA is the big time difference. For me, it's now 7pm. In the USA it's now 1933.

I don’t know if you’ll all be able to see this as it’s a link to Facebook, but can anyone tell me what this bloke’s on about? I think I may once have smoked the same stuff he did…

I'm sure the people who buy stuff you think will not work , will say they are rational people and have made a rational decision. Two versions of rationality , what will we do !

Nah. The turbo encabulator is a well established micky-take in the engineering/electronics/computer industry.

The original idea and text is from the IEE in the UK:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbo_encabulator

The original video is below. There have been many variations since.

I've always liked this one:

Vivitur ingenio, caetera mortis erunt

I forgot to reply to that before now.

"Two versions of rationality , what will we do", well there is this thing called the scientific method that gives us a mechanism to determine which version of reality (of the two) is closer to what we see actually happens, and which one makes testable predictions. It doesn't provide a truth in a mathematical or philosophical sense, but it does allow us to decide what is more likely to be correct. What you are saying could be used to say, well, flat earth is just an opinion, and so is globe earth, so they both must be as likely to be correct.

Thomas Kuhn - the structure of scientific revolutions , extends further Karl Poppers 'falsification' to show scientific method in practice as an inevitable and unavoidable human element .

That's nice, but I am not sure why it matters in this case? I would be more impressed with Philosophy other than Logic if it had ever managed to invent a physical thing that didn't exist before the philosophy invented it.

The point is , that the scientific method is implemented by humans and it is thus a fallacy to use scientific knowledge as having special truth status .

Indeed but there is also the falicy falicy such that while may be fallacious to believe science it may still be correct. And I would ask if you know of a more reliable path to truth?
