PSA came back today: 0.6ug/L where the normal range is 0.0 to 3.0, down slightly from last Dec's 0.7ug/L. The referral point is usually around 4.5ug/L for males of my age according to https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about- ... n-psa-test

So all good there... however just received a letter from the NHS saying they're sending a bowel cancer test next week... hopefully unconnected/just a coincidence!

There's a new test which is not only 99% accurate in diagnosis (which is WAY better than all other tests), it can also identify the stage... doesn't seem to be on the NHS yet though...

Yes, thanks Nick, it's one of the few bits of information I have read - I've avoided doing much research because it just feeds the negativity we seem to be drawn towards and I'm already feeling stressed about the situation.

I had my biopsy yesterday and now have to wait for the results, around 10-14days.

The procedure was quick and I hardly felt a thing, no discomfort this morning and only a little blood evident in my urine last evening and normal just now. The consultant is a keen cyclist so we had a good conversation about rides throughout, which was a nice distraction. No riding for me today but probably tomorrow.

Thats great news Ray, your luckier than me, I was passing rosè for a long while after and could not have sat on a bike seat for a couple of weeks..

Saying that I'm in a great place now..
It's been 3 weeks since my op and I haven't felt as good as do now in years..

On a more positive note, I've influenced some colleagues and friends to get themselves checked.

I have an appointment to get my biopsy results tomorrow morning. I'm assuming it will be confirmation of cancer cells and I'll come away with an idea of what comes next.

To think, the last time I went through this was more than twenty years ago... things have changed. Luck aside, diagnosis, treatment and knowledge have improved.
