#1 Having a clear-out - free stuff here.
Hi all,
When I joined this forum and came to Owston shortly after, I was amazed to have a load of parts generously donated which resulted in me building a 2w/ch 6EM7 SET amp.
Now it's my turn to pass some things along. Everything is free, on the condition you'll get some use out of the thing(s) you want.
Here's a DropBox link: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/js4h0epq ... 0qrpd&dl=0
Brief description of what's in the pictures:
- 2x Mission drivers, approx 4" - blue-ish cone and phase plug.
- 1x Quad driver, approx 4"
- 1x Kef 10" subwoofer driver
- 1x Unknown 10" sub driver
- 1x Vibe 12" dual-coil (2x 2ohm) sub driver. Small magnet probably means high Qts - might be good for a ripole.
- 4x Viscount 8" coaxial speakers. One of them isn't fully working - the tweeter is broken/missing. Can't remember for sure, but there's no HF there.
- A 2-channel +48V phantom power unit (sitting at the bottom of the box), for powering condenser microphones. XLR in/out, with mains supply. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of that specifically. It's this one: http://www.scayles.co.uk/ProductDetails?ID=Mjc1MA==
For the loose drivers, the cones seem to be in decent condition and move smoothly. I haven't gone around them with a multi-meter to ensure continuity yet, but am expecting them to work fine. Where possible, I've tried to include any extra info in the pictures.
I'd like them gone sooner rather than later, and would prefer collection.
There'll be more to come in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

Adding to the list...
2x band clamps, like these: https://www.screwfix.com/p/essentials-n ... p-4m/1024v
New in box. Free.
1x Ryobi electric sander: https://www.ryobitools.com/products/details/33287161201
£20? It's in a case, definitely has the dust bag, and I think a few sheets of sandpaper for it.
2x Bishop Sound 18" drivers - https://www.hytekelectronics.co.uk/prod ... s-speaker/
They were mounted in a 4th order bandpass cabinet, tested for about an hour, and then removed and put on a shelf. The cabinet is long gone.
They're medium/high Qts, so probably useful in an OB design. IIRC, the measured T/S weren't far off the data in the link above.
£50 the pair? - Offers welcome.

You're making some very generous offers there Chris, very good of you.
Almost tempted by the 18in drivers but then I reminded myself of all the other projects I already have...

Happy birthday Ray.

Imagine those 18 inch drivers sat below a pair of 15 inch fanes in a biiiiig box....
#6 Re: Having a clear-out - free stuff here.
Cheers Phil.
I'm not familiar with the drive units but I did wonder about the viability of the 18in bass units and the 8in Viscounts as an open baffle. I'm going to resist going beyond wondering though.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

That'd be an interesting little system. Decent efficiency, for sure.

Think I might've posted about these previously, but I have 3x Ecler Awak 108i that I'm happy to give away.
One definitely has a blown HF. I know this because I'm the one that blew it, testing with sweeps at progressively higher levels. The boxes have been painted grey at some point in their life, and the grilles are missing.
I'd suggest replacing the mylar tweeters with a decent dome tweeter, crossover around 2kHz, and you'll have something with plenty of punch for rock 'n' roll.
As they are, they're a bit rough in the kHz range. The tweeters don't get particularly low, so they've run the 8"s up to about 5kHz. They do a reasonable job up there, but obviously dispersion becomes very narrow.

Sorry , above offer withdrawn . Lidl we’re doing 60 % off a sander .
#11 Re: Having a clear-out - free stuff here.
No worries. I was hoping to avoid postage anyway.
I'll be putting more things on here in the next few days.
There haven't been any takers yet, so I'll probably start taking things to a charity shop or for recycling in the next week or so.

A few more bits. The DropBox folder has a few new photos. I've powered these up and ensured they pass audio.
A sensible offer (ie, not free) will secure:
- 2x Behringer DEQ2496. One of them has an on/off button where the little plastic surround is loose at the bottom. You can still press the button, but something to be aware of.
- 1x C-Audio RA3001. Class AB PA amp, something like 400w/ch@8ohm. Fan is pretty quiet, but could be replaced with silent.
- Crown DC300A. Modified to have phono inputs and an IEC connector on a short mains cable. Powers up, plays music.
Free stuff:
- 1x Behringer notepad mixing desk. Comes with the power supply.
- 1x Ecler PAM2000 amplifier. Doesn't power up, but I think I can hear a relay click when switched on. Might be simple, might be difficult. What I can say for sure is there's a couple of big heatsinks, a couple of big transformers, and four 22,000uF 100V caps in there. Probably worth something in scrap, if nothing else. Service manual is available online, and it includes schematics, part lists, and instructions on setup.

Thomas has secured the Bishop Sound 18" drivers, and the pair of band clamps. The rest is still up for grabs.
Really hoping that some of this stuff can go to a good home rather than the bin.

Back into the garage for another round. Pictures added to DropBox. Here's the list:
7x Halogen wall-mount lights. Two of them have IEC cables attached, the rest are new in opened boxes. Free.
1x Cloud VTX1200 - £20
1x Peavey DECA 528 - £20
1x Cloud CV1000 - £20
A pair of speakers containing Wharfedale W12/EG full-range drivers - £20
A "passive preamp". 4-way phono switch with an (IIRC) 10k pot. I bought four pots and this one had the best stereo matching. Free.
1x Bishop 12" driver - £10
4x Bose Freespace 1B - £10 each, £30 for the lot.
1x Subwoofer containing 2x JBL GTO1214 drivers in a force-cancelling arrangement. £30.
There haven't been many takers so far, so I'll be putting things on eBay/GumTree/whatever sometime next week.
