19 years for a cat , that’s fantastic . S/he must have been happy and satisfied to stick around for that long .

Glad to see your feeling better and may be home soon Phil , I was in for a 104 days and was told no to my request to go home four times . I do hope the same doesn’t happen to you .

A sad day Steve.

Glad you're feeling better Phil. Now I feel it's more appropriate to ask if you're sure the choice of undies wasn't yours?

I'm still in hospital, fit enough to get up to use toilet facilities.

Getting antibiotics and nebulisers daily, but hopefully may not be here much longer. :)
Fab! Any idea what's actually wrong with you? (Yeah nosey.)

Currently camping in Suffolk. Got a corner all to meself, it's like being in a meadow. Nice when the sun's out, not so much when the wind blows and it rains.

I have been trying out an ex- army one day ration pack, it's surprisingly good!

A former colleague has written a book about my workplace, the UK Hydrographic Office, during World War Two, when it supplied maritime charts to support the D-Day landings and many other operations.

Thank you. One of my happiest moments was being taken to an Aladdin's cave of an electronics shop in Hong Kong. In addition to all sorts of thermionic goodies in the window was a copy of Valve Amplifiers. Stupidly, I failed to take a photograph. But I had a long chat with the proprietor (Mr Chan).

That would have been in Mong Kok (Tak Fak Building?), not on the island. ISTR it was around Argyle or Apliu Street which is where all the real electronics (components etc.) shops are. Lots of back-street valve amp places, but no valves were cheap when I lived out there around 2007. I had a Chinese audiophile colleague who did the negotiating for me as, being a laowai/gweilo, if I asked the prices were silly, plus in that part of the city, very few spoke English.

My photo was taken in Kinokuniya, one of the world's biggest bookstores, in Dubai Mall (the 2nd largest mall in the world), Dubai.

Dubai Mall was horrible - I used to only go there for the cinema, the bookshop and a sports shop. I believe there were 1,200 shops in there. Hellish.
