I have a KKnoon sig gen and it seems quite acceptable. Mine is the £120 one with the arbitrary signal function and PC connection but they also do this one which is basic but might do what you need?

Something for everyone. I quite like the sound of a 4 stroke sig gen, but £1.31 takes some beating.

Does sound more managable and sensible, and is what I would prefer. :D

Or as said you could use Audacity to generate test waveforms, I have done similar.

Yep, but not ideal for square waves, very dependent on your DAC and you wont get the fast risetime that we want to push the amplifier.
