Whilst surfing the waves I came across these monsters - 200uF 800VDC MKP PP caps for £14.38. Worth a try for a power supply perhaps?

Monsters ?
Baked bean tin sized ones are big, but all mine are electrolytic.
My biggest PP caps are 85mm x 130mm, 1900v DC - 40A - 130uf.

Thanks for the remider. Finding the EL36, it confirmed my view it is a dead duck. Disgracefull distortiin. Shame it doesnt have 10Y or 801a. Good that GM70 at full power is as good as it measured for me. But also the 211 holds its own, and considering there is more reasons not portrayed in any characteristic curves, and though the GM70 ought to be Mr Perfect, I have a hankering for the 211 again. Oh and bye the way the 212 makes the GM70 sound plain. No 833 but that also comes with more excitement than the 212 and the GM70. So the distortion estimates dont tell the complete story, but clearly obvious warnings from the alleged distortion programmed into this spice vehicle arent necessarily right. Though for now the 801a will make a good stepping stone in that direction, and its distortion profile measured from printed charts by me with a vernier says dont ignore this option. Considering how distorted the popular dhts like 2a3 px4 appear. There is another sleeper not listed the EL38. The only triode curves available are the 37. All I have to go on is the visible appearance is the same as the EL37. So I’ll just give it ago without curves and see what my ears say. Compared to the EL34. So Im not yet given up on TV tubes just because EL36 looked like a crazy choice to promote at ETF. Maybe the curves are wrong and the character is not. But I’ll give the EL38 a try. In the end I’ll build the latest utracer and put characteristic curves for the triode connected characteristic curves of the EL38. Though they appear to be quite rare. I guess if I publish characteristic curves almost matching EL37 Id better buy me some more before doing so.

I guess to some extent even measuring off the published curves is a bit of a lottery as it depends on how close our actual valves conform to the averaged graphs?
