I saw a YouTube video claiming to have identified the source of the "Holmfield hum".
I wondered if our Nick has heard anything lately ?

The council could not find anything. Will have a listen next week. At the moment it's covered by the sound of earthmovers moving a hill about.
Whenever an honest man discovers that he's mistaken, he will either cease to be mistaken or he will cease to be honest.

I don't do Facebook, but from what you posted it seems the hum is still there.
Did I miss something ?
PS I signed the petition.

The thing is I an not sure that everyone who can hear the hum is hearing the same thing. I noticed a clear signal around 170hz, and it was likely I thought to be extraction fans. Some of the posts from people finding things have been very similar to the fan sound I measured, but that sounded like it was coming from the industrial estate down the road from me. I would expect that sort of sound from an industrial estate. The Refractory factory mentioned in the link is just down the road from me, and when I get close to it when walking dogs up to its gate (there is a public footpath that runs outside their perimeter fence) then I cant hear any noise. There is a couple of wind turbines that belong to PS, but other than the odd "woosh" they are quiet enough. Other than the sound of dogs barking which is partly us and partly the dog nursery in the mill round the corner the only noise at the moment (the diggers have stopped now) is what I assume is a bike engine on a dyno from a small eng works on the other side of the stream. May not be a dyno, as its been going for months now. Or may be one and they have a lot of bikes to tune.
