Okey dokey. I'll warn you in advance when I post pictures Ant!
It still starts and runs ok even in this state, I rode it just over 40 miles back home after it started making knocking noises.
Strong bikes these Bullets, made like a gun ( ie. Goes bang occasionally).

Yes it was. Not the first time I've done this. (Memo to self – next time, do not have a starter)

If the object of the exercise was to make the most impressive amount of swarf, that's a winner.

Elsewhere – the V7 at Rachel's cafe Hagworthingham for sausage egg and chips

I took it on some of our narrow bumpy lanes to see how it copes – jeez I'd forgotten how rough Midville Road is – it was OK, has to be said. But there was daylight between me and the saddle a few times.

Mike, does the Guzzi seat go "quack" when you sit on it now ?

For many months now I've had "charge BMW battery" on my to-do list. Well, just now, finally, I've got it on charge.
Surprisingly enough, before I removed the battery from the bike , I pressed the starter button and it clanked into life.
Looks like the new battery is holding it's charge well.

For the uninitiated, the wax that Mike is using on his Guzzi leather covered seat is called "DucksWax".

Was at the B17 Cafe at Binbrook today, as part of the BSA Bantam Owners Club (Lincs branch) ride out and meet up.

Parky again, but had just received a heated waistcoat (vest) which seems quite good, a prior try out (indoors) showed that minimum setting ought to be sufficient, and so it proved to be. Pinkies and tootsies still suffered a bit tho albeit I had my big gloves on. But I was still much better off than I was on Tuesday (aborted ride out to Diss).
Despite weather forecast saying should be dry with sunny spells, actually there was a couple of brief sprinkles of showers and the roads never properly dried out from yesterday and this morning, so means bike is now dirty will have to wash it.
Have to say I never enjoy riding solo on cold greasy damp and mud spattered country roads with occasional pot holes and gravel thrown in; still not totally got over stacking the blue X10 back in 2015 (all I did was lean it), however have to say that the Dunlop Arrowmax tyres performed faultlessly and do indeed seem to stick to the road like snot to a 'tache and are quite confidence inspiring. Not that I was pushing them at all.

I had the Dunlops on my XBR and have to say I found them good, although the rear tyre had a disappointingly short life. Recently changed to Bridgestone BT46 which are even better, but bikes are surprisingly choosy when it comes to tyres - it's not a one type fits all situation.Mike H wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 7:29 pm Have to say I never enjoy riding solo on cold greasy damp and mud spattered country roads with occasional pot holes and gravel thrown in; still not totally got over stacking the blue X10 back in 2015 (all I did was lean it), however have to say that the Dunlop Arrowmax tyres performed faultlessly and do indeed seem to stick to the road like snot to a 'tache and are quite confidence inspiring. But who remembers the problems with the XK120 and Michelin X? Only an old fart like me, I suppose. But it was an excellent illustration of the point.
