ultra marathon
#1 ultra marathon
bit of good news on a grey day...
my eledset has just told me he did the ultra marathon at Hitchingbrooke on Sunday...
he finished 1st in his class and 3rd overall, out of 200.
well done Leon....I'm feeling tired just thinking about it...
a lot of it was like this apparently

Blummineck, well done to him. ive just started running again, im struggling to crack 5k in 30 minutes at the moment.....
Just got back from a 5.77k run and got 31.47 for the 5k split and 36.39 for the whole run.
About half is awful mud like the pic ed, and the other half is road. My road shoes do not handle the mud very well at all...
Buuut... no buts, must try harder

Thats a great achievement Ed, bet your proud
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

Not cheap, but damn good - grippy, comfortable and last well. I've used them for years and love them. Decent ones are all around the same price.
Whatever brand you go for, trail shoes are essential if doing any x-country.

I used karrimor trail shoes last year but they were uncomfortable and wore out in 2 seconds flat, and the addidas ones that replaced them had the same problem and were 3 times the price. I stopped last august because i did my left ankle on the same route, i still think the addidas trainers had something to do with it as there was bugger all ankle support for a supposed trail shoe
The best fitting ones for me have always been asics, thats what my road shoes are. Ill have to sort something if i want to get the times down.
And actually keep going out and doing it.

I believe Karrimor is a brand that Sports Direct sell.
In my opinion, Karrimor, and most Sports Direct stuff is rubbish.
EDIT
The company was founded as the Karrimor Bag Company in 1946. Financial difficulties beginning in the late 1990s led to the company entering receivership in March 2003, after which the trademark was acquired by Sports Direct and is now used for various budget outdoor and running products.
