I'm thinking that my Mum, and Jeans Mum, could possibly benefit from having a virtual assistant (like Alexa),but I'm out of touch with them and what they do.
What's a good one to go for these days ?

I guess I would ask what they would use it for? Unless you have a house full of connected devices its not going to do much (IMHO).

Well, my Mum has great trouble remembering place names, and would find the ability to get information in real time.
I suppose the easiest thing is for me to buy one and see how it does things that might be useful for the both of them.
Apart from working connected devices are there many (or any)other useful functions to them ?
Playing specific music to order might be one.
Any preference to Alexa / Echo dot etc ?
PS I see one needs an Amazon account to use Alexa, that could be a problem.
