I dunno about not being a rocker - you did plenty of air guitaring and air drumming when I played the album version of Radar Love a few years back.Cressy Snr wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 7:45 pmYou know Ray, for the first time, I may just do that.
I'm not a rocker, or a fan of sonic spectaculars. I'm more of an easy listening kind of person, so what I like will be the best way to go about things.

I still maintain that I’m not a rocker. Radar Love was pop music in 1973 as was stuff like Free’s ‘Wishing Well’ As such, it was great and I bought the singles. Albums were a different matter, I simply couldn’t get into whole album’s worth of stuff. I mean for example, Roxy Music made great singles, but I found their albums impenetrable.
I’m a surface skimmer, a pop music fan, no substance or real commitment underneath as I’m just too lazy and not prepared to be challenged by music of any description, whatever the genre. I can’t bear either noise, discord or jaggedness. Some people love Zappa, Beefheart and the freak scene. It’s too complex and I don’t have the attention span. I’m not dissing this music, it’s my loss, nobody else’s.
The only kind of music I’ve ever really gotten really deep into was the 60s, early 70s Deep Soul scene which is so on the outer reaches of soul music, that it makes you want to slit your wrists. Believe me, if you suffer from depression, you do not want to be listening to Deep Soul. It set my recovery back years. I get the CDs out sometimes but can’t bring myself to put them in the player. If I hear the words ‘I can’t stand it’ I can’t stand it.
I float along on a wave of bright and breezy soul jazz, smooth jazz, Swing Out Sister, European electro lounge and Brazilian music. I don’t mind a bit of Nick Drake, John Martyn, Joni Mitchell.

Yes, but I didn’t even know that song existed, so it was lost on me I’m afraid.vinylnvalves wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 9:54 am You missed the point - completely. It was a reference to Golden Earrings other cheesy hit.....

Would have been a good idea to have it pointing in the right direction before starting it up...
Anyway, Is that what DtB's project will be like when he finishes it?
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
