Nice bit of restoration.

Just shows what tools/machinery are needed.

I loved the ball pein hammer shots, a favourite job of mine. :)

As someone that knows nowt about metalworking that was fascinating.

The blueing liquid - according to Wikipedia it passivates the steel though only offers minimal protection against corrosion without oil. Presumably in this application it's enough without oil?

Never seen a manual hammer drill before, wonder how old it us?

Id say that was late 40s early 50s? Just looking at the alloy castings, it looks like that time period. The machining on the internal parts was pretty quick and dirty, like they didnt care too much
I like the stock on the back of it so you can get your shoulder behind it
He made a very neat job of peining the rivet pins, the one he did on the curved part of the stock just vanished when it was sand blasted

If you are not into motorcycles the name Allen Millyard may not mean anything, but he has made and modified some amazing machines over the years.

Here is a video of him building a V8 Kawasaki Z1, in his home workshop without any specialised machinery. A Myford lathe, hacksaw, files and a bit of emery covered wood all help him make something really wonderful.

Loved his efforts at making toast as well.

I had noticed that before, but never got round to actually watching it till now.

Seems a few wood-turners are using acrylics these days.
