#1 BBC Wales equipment auction
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

I would expect online live bidding will be accommodated.IslandPink wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 10:30 am Cripes !

I don’t know how it works, Phil as I’ve never done it, but most auctions these days incorporate live online bidding. Five minutes watching crappy daytime tv will show you that. I would imagine auction houses also have payment and courier schemes.

I've followed some of the other BBC auctions - some of the pricing was silly, especially speakers etc.shane wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 10:26 am Some nice bits and pieces here:

The auctioneer wants the site cleared, typically in 24 hours. They won't package anything arrange couriers etc. It's all the purchaser's responsibility.
Now, if we could speak to someone we know in Wales....

Well that’s not insurmountable. Good couriers offer a combined collection, package and delivery service. Anyone set on acquiring an EMT would readily pay for the service IMO.
EDIT. I’ve just noticed, this is advertised as an online auction. In such circumstances, they will surely be accommodating the couriering needs of the buyer. Actually, my bad. I should spend some time to read it all properly before I start commenting. Not really read it because nothing of interest to me apart from an EMT and that won’t pass the WAF test so no point in looking further.
Wrong part of Wales. We used to have an active member in Cardiff and someone else nearby, but they’ve been quiet lately.

These people always do live stuff - I've bid on their auctions before Their t&C's state:
The auctioneers just want the payment and site cleared.
If you can get a courier to act for you and go to the site, claim the goods, pack them and ship them to you, then good luck with that.Purchasers shall pay for and remove lots at their own risk and expense within the specified period following the sale; after such time the Auctioneers reserve the right to scrap, or to resell uncollected lots with no refund being made to the purchaser. In addition they shall be subject to a daily charge per lot to cover storage, loading, transport, etc. and where applicable, interest on outstanding accounts will be levied at 4% above Barclays Bank Minimum Lending Rate. In all cases, the Auctioneers may act without notice and any incidental expenses incurred (including building clearance, penalty clauses etc.) will become a liability to the defaulter.

Yep, I believe UPS and others will do it, but I expect it’ll be a gamble on success.
Having said that, I have no doubt this auction was set up before both Wales and England were expected to go into lockdown, so it might be worth contacting the auction house for an update, as you can’t now legally travel into Wales or visa versa from Thursday and I don’t think we know what the limitations are on, or not on, courier services.
Very frustrating for someone in the market for an EMT. Generally these nowadays only come up on BBC based auctions such as this. I hope the auction room has set up a system to accommodate.
