Sars-Cov-2 stuff
#16 Re: Zero emission road vehicles.
Yes, you are right. Depressing, isn’t it. Al the more reason to remain as isolated as you can on a day by day basis. Not easy. In the last week I’ve had two hits on the NHS tracker app. Both told me no further action was required, however, the hits relate to a take away pick up where the restaurant was open and there was absolutely no social distancing in place. I couldn’t get to the counter without being close to others. Not going there again for a long time.
The NHS tracker app is pretty crap. I only got messages as ‘notifications’ which are easy to overlook and delete. Surely messages would be better by text or email? Just another example of how crap this government is at getting things done. I recently read an account on how the private track and trace system worked. Millions of pounds paid to priv@te companies that simply cannot deliver. Even the people they employed feel helpless and out of their depth. Of course, regardless of this privatised inefficiency, the actual privatisation is probably the governments goal. They have no interest in managing the current crisis unless their performance gets so bad that their is a national back lash. Certainly they are interested in undermining the NHS and moving as many services into private hands as they can. Bunch of arseholes, the lot of them. In such a crisis when so many lives are at risk, what kind of people are willing to put their political beliefs ahead of an application of basic humanity?
Doesn’t matter what your personal political persuasion is, you can’t deny what the current government is doing. A committed Tory with a moral foundation should be appalled.

Dying people, a panic stricken, incompetent government, a disobedient public, a no deal Brexit and the almost certain re election of Trump, is the perfect mixture for very, very serious trouble coming down the line. It’s now about all of us who are vulnerable, doing as much as we possibly can to protect ourselves and to hope that there is something left when we open up the doors and climb into the dawn.

Quote - It has spent – and this is the Treasury’s own figure – a staggering £15 billion. And, surprisingly, three of the biggest beneficiaries were companies specialising in pest control, a confectionery wholesaler and an opaque private fund owned through a tax haven.
Ed's right though. I wonder if these Covid related posts could be rehomed Nick.

I'm a bit confused....
Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

No10 apologises for the delays in the broadcast informing us about the new lockdown. Unfortunately Cummings is having a devil of a job getting through to Specsavers.

4 week lockdown from Thursday.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a second national lockdown for England as the UK passed one million Covid-19 cases.
He said the steps were necessary to avoid the "medical and moral disaster" of the NHS being overwhelmed.

I've just come back from food shopping at Lidl in Haverhill. No panics, plenty of paper tissue (all types) and the only thing on my list I could not get was pork chops.Cressy Snr wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 11:35 am The fecking bog roll bandits are out in force again.

It's just South Yorkshire I think. Maybe they suffer from a sort of lockdown anxiety, and get a case of the runs ?

You’ve seen the fecking shit tip, one horse town I live in Phil. People have been in little more than survival mode round here since Thatcher destroyed us in the 80s. They’ll do whatever it takes to preserve themselves and sod the rest of us. Why give a shit when nobody else does is the prevailing attitude amongst a lot of folk round here.pre65 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 2:47 pmI've just come back from food shopping at Lidl in Haverhill. I’d still water cannon the bastards though. They’ve no damned right to deprive people of basic necessities just so they can stack a cupboard floor to ceiling with bog paper. The crying nurse video from last time came to mind. Nothing’s changed, and the bog roll bandits are the same people, who will be kicking off and blaming everybody but themselves for the mess, when most of the useless bleed’n wastes of oxygen were going about maskless and falling out of pubs.
