It's my happy 70% day today! 3 weeks since I had my first vaccination.

I had the side effects for 4 or 5 days, bad the first 2 or 3. But I still feel a bit washed out even now. Whether that means the vaccine is any more efficacious in me, or I'm just unlucky, who knows.

If anyone knows they ain't saying. I didnt get anything worth mentioning both times, Anna was a bit ill, once, not twice. Etc etc etc. Does anyone know of anyone getting really sick from a vaccination? Surely, ( who ever she is) statistically someone somewhere could have got really badly ill..... or not!

Stay tuned for more AZ knocking this afters.... more people die on the streets than ....

Just had a call from my Doctors surgery, my second jab (Pfizer) is on Friday at 11:42.

After the first jab I had an "off" day, but nothing specific.

Jean had her second jab on Monday, and on Tuesday morning she woke with aching joints and a sore arm.

2nd jab completed. :)

While I was in town (Clare) I popped into the Pharmacy and got myself a box (7) of Covid self test kits (rapid antigen test).

With Jean being a carer, and Mum being 93, I don't want to take any chances.

PS The box containing the Rapid Antigen tests says "made in China.

Yep, the ones we use from the hospital are 'Innova' and are made in China. Shouldn't really be a surprise should it?!

No, not really I suppose.

I tested negative, and I've posted my result online as requested. It's a bit of a faff (posting the result) but never mind eh.

Interesting video. Doesn't surprise me it was throughout Italy in September 2019. The daughter a colleague of my better half is a medical researcher working in cancer. After the initial restrictions many had at work last year started to lift, they started to go through older blood samples that had been taken but couldn't be fully tested earlier. So around 6 or 7 months ago I suppose they found evidence of Covid 19 in this country back in September 2019...

Thanks for posting that. Who is Dr J.L. Campbell- seems a nice guy?

He stated no peer review (so far?) this is essential.

Also the 'sample' although an interesting / interested group it is not random so can only show significance within the study group.

Let's say though that all is 'bona fide'. that this research is significant, reliable and repeatable. What is happening? If nothing it feels immoral but it has to be repeatable etc to be genuinely useful. That it is cheap and safe isn't relevant to the study as described but it is very useful to know.

Now I spose I'll have to go away and read it.... that'll keep me quiet - groan.

My understanding of John's background is that he's Nurse practitioner who has spent a lot of time in GP training but also worked abroad at various times, maybe for charities. He seems to have written some of the standard training books.

Interesting in my cohort of work colleagues, friends and relatives, there are now 5 groups of people who have caught the virus after being double jabbed, all under 55. The partner of one of the guys has caught it off him, she was vaccinated back in the spring. All currently have only had mild to medium symptoms effects- one chap ex rugby player, now runs and cycles is still very fatigued a couple of weeks later. Boris is going to lift all restrictions later.... unless I know the small percentage of people who it don’t work for.. statistically remote, there are a lot of vaccinmando’s who think they are invincible to it... time will tell.

I was invited to join a Covid study, but the nearest centre to me is Bethnal Green, so if they come back to me I will have to decline.

I was hoping it would be in the Cambridge area.

It looks like the Covid rate is rising again, so I'll be circumspect about the new found freedoms Boris has given us from Monday onwards.

I don’t watch the news or read the news anymore. I will return to it when the sensationalist bullshit stops. That probably means never. In my head, I’ve never felt better for cutting myself off from it. Quite liberated to be honest.
