Seems I'm in tier 4 as from midnight. :(

Can one be in two bubbles ?

I'm in one with my Mum, and in another (via Jean) with Jeans Mum.

Mark, Cannot you mum doing into a bubble with your sister? That’s what SWMBO is doing with her mum, isolating for a week before going over.

Seems not, so I can see my Mum (without Jean) and Jean can see her Mum (without me).

So, my Christmas in West Yorkshire is cancelled.

We're a bit stuffed. #1 son is here, #2 son lives here, daughter is in London with partner.

Originally we were going to have a family lunch on the 23rd, then #1 son goes to Ireland to be with partner & her family #2 son has Xmas lunch with his girlfriend in the next village and daughter comes down with her bloke for the lunch then goes on to his family in the New Forest.

Now nobody is going anywhere. #1 son can't leave here and go to Ireland, #2 son can't see girlfriend's family and daughter is really upset as she can't see any of us or go to the BF's family, so stuck in flat in London with no garden etc.

On top of that, my older sister who is in the vulnerable category can't go to her son, so she's stuck in London on her own :(

Oh, and on a purely selfish front, I bought a project Landrover today from a friend of a friend which was to be my Xmas present to self, and now I can't collect it as it's in Suffolk

Father Jack had a pithy turn of phase for this sort of situation...

Yes, we had a chat about all these details. My mum should be able to see one of us, at least ( it was me last, about a month ago ) but I think we will all get together for at least a couple of days, bearing in mind my sister had the virus two weeks ago, my brother in law probably had a touch of it around the same time, and kids must have been exposed to it.

Oooooo now that I like - makes me larffff.

But when I'm in hospital and we're told do this , do that and then we'll be safe, we just get on and do it that way It's fucking difficult, some of it may be lies and incompetence but sometimes ones essential right to emote and argue doesn't stand up.

We just have to get on and pick up the pieces.

The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

Yes I saw that utter madness.

Despite what others think the whole things a shambles, stay in, go out, close your shop, open your shop, have 5 days to see your loved ones, have one day to see your loved ones.

Very frustrating for one and all, but when the Covid situation changes the Government must respond accordingly.

I'm glad I don't have to make those sort of decisions.

I'll obey the rules and keep myself safe.

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Sound advice indeed - thanks !

I've just had a couple of difficult conversations with my mum and sister. Looks like I'll be on my own at home this Christmas :(

No, hang on - stop press !
Reading the fine print -
https://gov.wales/making-christmas-bubb ... and-family
I can go out of Wales to visit one other household ( and one other person who lives alone ) on the day, as long as I come back that night.
This do-able - 2.5 hours each way.
Meanwhile my sister is prepared to pick up my mum from her home on Christmas Eve and bring her back later.
This way, I don't risk my mum too much by being in the car with her.
