Yeah but that's the jolly old USA for you. May as well tilt at windmills. That Musk fellow has just realised that Bitcoin is seriously bad news for the world...

Yes as I've stayed with friends in Ashkelon it is a bit worrying but nothing to do with this topic.

What's this 'front trunk' nonsense? What's wrong with bonnet?

Is bonnet still a correct term when there is no internal combustion engine underneath ?

Would the cover over a rear engined car still be a bonnet ?

Oxford dictionary says "the hinged metal canopy covering the engine of a motor vehicle."

Confusing.

Not Front Trunk. It’s Frunk 😉 It has an additional luggage space.

Sorry, but even if I had a Tesla Frunk is a word I would not use.

More likely "front boot".

Bonnet - the hinged cover at the front of the car. Boot - the hinged cover at the rear

So if you had 911 or a beetle would it be the rear bonnet?

Thinking about it, no.

Only if a vehicle had engines front and rear.(can't think of one offhand)

The terminology of boot (or trunk) gets more complicated when there are storage areas front and rear.

Not sure I follow you on that. My car has front and rear motors. It also has a frunk and a trunk. Simples!

We're not in the USA.

Surely and appropriately, shouldn't that be "boot" and "foot"?

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.
