I have no problem with people having different views to me, but being insulted on a public forum is a different matter.

If we're going to go all Euro-huggy-huggy, that should be "au contraire"...

I described three categories of people in my post, its up to you to decide which one you feel yourself to be a member of.
Whenever an honest man discovers that he's mistaken, he will either cease to be mistaken or he will cease to be honest.

He's no cyclist. He'll use anything to get on. Ken Livingstone invented that. Johnson merely re- branded it.
Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

You know Nick, I'm so thick I can only see two categories of people in your quote.Nick wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 7:29 pmI described three categories of people in my post, its up to you to decide which one you feel yourself to be a member of.
1) only a fool
2) someone duped by the Tory press.
I don't consider myself in either category, but according to you I must be in one or the other.

I didn't go out on my bike, but I was out in the countryside for 3hrs20.
As a brief interlude, I offer some pictures . ( Climbed Moel y Gaer via the Nant y Ne, variant of route from about 3 weeks ago )

3, Those that realise that using whataboutisum to deflect by trying to create a comparison to others is a cheap trick.

I did a forum search for the word whataboutisum and it only appears in your last post.

C'mon Phil, are you being obtuse or do you really not see that your post was basically excusing Boris by saying 'what about Tony Blair' .
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Not sure what that means, unless you are suggesting that I can only use words that have already been used here (which has a clear problem), but if you need a definition:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WhataboutismWhataboutism, also known as whataboutery, is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument.

Now that one does only have two choices.

Try Google for a wider search .. as used by Johnson and Trump extensively :

I don't excuse anyone in public service behaving badly, and agree with what Nick says regarding standards.
It's such a shame that people have to decide to support what they consider to be the least worst political party, rather than the best.
I thing I'm done with this matter now.
