Ah. I'm handling the situation differently.

I'm going to enjoy my nom noms and slurps 1st then try and cycle 12 miles next year to counteract this!

I've signed up for this year's RideLondon event at the end of May. I had a place on the 2020 event that was canceled because of Covid and then the event almost folded.

Anyway, it's now back on and supported by Essex Council instead of Surrey so a whole new route out into the '...beautiful countryside and villages of Essex' (their words, not mine). Do I need to employ bodyguards to accompany me?

The new start is on Victoria Embankment and the finish is on Tower Bridge but there's the small matter of the 100miles in between...

The ballot for entries is still open if any of you chaps fancy it?

I cheated with my entry - I've avoided the ballot by signing-up to ride for the British Heart Foundation so I have a place allocated.

If it's "only" 100 miles it won't reach the darkest northern limits of Essex like where I live. :)

It will be interesting to see the route though.

Is that because you're tempted Phil?

The full route map isn't available yet.

Beyond me for a while. I'm hoping to be at 60km in April but that's a big ask.

Me, tempted to ride 100 miles on a bicycle ?

Not bloody likely.
