Nice day out in a nice part of the world Steve. Must be 25 years since I last went to Malton. Good beer I seem to (partially) remember.

Aye, it’s two years since we went to the North Yorks coast because of this blasted Covid malarkey. It was great to actually get out somewhere if only for the day.

Just for reference - I had this checked today against a professional electrician's Megga clamp meter that was calibrated last month and, for largish currents (30A or so) at least, it was within a couple of percent (we had both meters adjacent on the the various tails whilst testing stuff).jack wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 4:09 amThanks for the offer but I've just ordered a Uni-T UT210E, which whilst not a Fluke/Agilent/Keysight/Keithley etc. should be more than adequate. For around 40 quid, it seems a good bit of kit and has a lot of good reviews..

Big Clive and EEVBLOG etc. love it as does Mark Hennessy who is a BBC senior engineer who I know and who did a detailed review.
....
So it seems that it really is an alright meter for not a lot of money. For once, the Amazon reviews are correct !!

Coming south from a lovely week above Tarn Hows Anna told me to turn right from the M6. We went to one of the top one or two beautifullest places in the UK. The sun shone for three days and we've just got home. V.tired. Near the beautifullest place in the UK if not the whole world we found a lake reservoir called Vernwey or summat - stunning!

Hmmm... I wonder where that could have been. Sounds like it could even be in another country with a different language.

Ha ha, Lake Vrnwy might be a better spelling Mark. Is Wales another country? Weird! but I'm sure you, of all people, know where I'm talking about.

Vrnwy is better, but Vyrnwy is even more satisfying.

I'm away at Potters holiday village, and playing in their weekly bowls tournament.
We all play three matches, then, depending on success, qualifying towards the final.
The team I'm in has scraped into the last 16 (on shot difference) so we play our quarter final match at 10:00 this morning.
A light breakfast today (for a change) me thinks.

Ah yes, Vyrnwy. Stayed at the hotel nine years ago. View from our balcony.

Nice one.
What's a Rhaeadr between friends, anyway ?
Lovely shots, Greg.
I believe it's got proper busy up there by the waterfall in the last couple of years.
I don't think I've been up there for 30 years, I rode to it from Denbigh, that was a long day out.

My daughter is a recruiter for financial services techies in the City of London.
One of their candidates obviously cared enough about the blue-chip company he was Zoom interviewing for that he dressed appropriately (the client bank sent this back to the agency yesterday - I just blocked out part of the image):

Busy, yep, at the weekend, too true. But I remember ooooo at least 22 years ago I camped there ( no camping now) and it was just as busy....
Lovely nevertheless!
