I'd have thought a "finger" style one would be more versatile Ant.
I checked on Ebay (UK only search) and there were metric ones for £12 or so.

Gggggrrrrr missed that then - I'm 'way over Hexham' as, I'm told, the locals would say.

I think the footage from the Miles Davis times was the most interesting...

Happy Day!
After 3 years of on/off paperwork, I just received my Portuguese European ID card (EIDC). I can now travel inside Europe without a British passport, which is now only needed to get back into the UK. The EIDC is used instead of a passport inside Europe and is essentially the same as a passport - many other countries also accept it. The EIDC is a "smart card", so carries a lot a data with it.
My actual physical Portuguese passport will follow in a couple of months.
Quite odd seeing my nationality listed on legal documents as both British and Portuguese. Real sense of pride in that.

Can anyone recommend a decent USB wifi dongle? The wifi in the laptop has died and it's a bit of a pain using an ethernet cable. The laptop is 12 years old and needs fixing with a new one really, but it still works and is fine for what we need.
Anyway, a quick search on Amazon and there are plenty for less than a tenner but reading the reviews performance, or even getting them to work, seems patchy to say the least. It's worth a few quid to try but my time is a lot more valuable and I really can't face hours of trying to get it to work. So any suggestions or recommendations, even if it's don't bother? Thanks.

Several years ago Jean dropped her laptop and the inbuilt wi-fi stopped working. I removed the offending "bit" and got a cheap Ebay USB dongle. I don't remember having problems setting it up as it was now the only Wi-Fi device on the laptop.

Thanks for your experience Phil. It's difficult to know what to make of reviews sometimes - there's a TP Link with about 40000 reviews at something over 4 out of 5. But start reading the reviews and lots had problems. I gave up reading. All the positive reviews must have been further down...

No direct help but always he had good results with tplink stuff.

I'm having a pork casserole tonight. (yum yum)
My meal will be an hour later than planned 'cos I forgot to put it in the oven.
Div, or what?

Pah that's nothing. I've set up the oven timer but forgot to turn the actual oven knob on.
