Thanks Phil. Christmas was only going to be the four of us at home so no plans to change. Enjoy your Christmas
Sars-Cov-2 stuff
#407 Re: Sars-Cov-2 stuff
fingers crossed Stu.....
if your lucky it won't last long..Sandrine's just done her first negative test after 7 days so she may be out of captivity later today if the next one is negative. And I'll get my music room back.
a cosy festive at home has got to be better than having to cancel the trip to France for Christmas with the family. I only mention this because it sometimes makes you feel better if you know somebody is worse off than yourself....maybe.. sounds like oneupmanship but I can assure you it's not.

My daughter has imported the virus from school (teenager, if fatigue has kicked in there's no telling) so we find ourselves creeping around the house in N95 masks. A sentry is posted to repel visitors bearing mince pies and the cat is being monitored. The festive dinner, just the 4 of us, will be for those able to bring along a negative LFT and able to live with the remaining risk. Vaccinated to the rafters . Interesting to see if it spreads amongst us.

No surprise, I've just got an email to say I'm still negative from the pcr test. I'm not surprised.
Omicron is very infectious but not as serious as delta etc etc but otoh in a hospital not a thousand miles from the Shire there are 100 peeps in hospital with covid. This time last year there were 200!!!

wierdest thing...
Seb did a positive lateral flow last Sunday and a positive PCR on Monday so he's isolating...been back at school for 1 week.....
today Sandrine had a positive lateral flow so had to abandon this afternoons teaching.....to re-cap, she had covid over Christmas
we were not sure what to do about a PCR so she called the booking service and was told...can't have a second PCR within 90 days of a previous positive one.....so bearing in mind she had covid 3 weeks ago and she's triple jabbed...is the lateral flow to be beleived?

they(she has more than one) don't get a say...the instruction is clear, self isolate for 7 days min.

When we all had it in september we were told by the people on the 119 number not to test for 90 days because there could be false positives

Curses.... I suppose I knew it would get me in the end!

Sorry to hear that Ed. Hope it is the mildest of mildness.

You just get well again.
Best wishes.

Aww shucks, thanks chaps.
There's no method in this pesky affliction...I've been feeling grotty since last Wednesday, when Sandrine had her 2nd dose. She insisted I do lateral flow tests and on Friday I had a negative one. I think she was disappointed I hadn't got it. In my mind I must have had it since Wednesday but it didn't show until today...go figure....
in truth it feels like mild flu or a bad cold(well, so far).

Hope you feel better soon Ed.
For me the cold symptoms didn't last longer than three days but were followed by a day of sitting on the loo and then a couple where I felt like hanging myself. All over in 5-6 days.
