It seems to be the ones from Phil that are strange. Phil, could I see a screen shot of your browser viewing the forum?

Yup - from Scottmoose - all his from "Sars-Cov-2 stuff" and "Something stirs in the Undergrowth" are https://audio-talk.co.uk/... (no "www.") but annoyingly some from topic "Nothing in Particular" have the "www." and some don't!!

It's only SOME of Phil's that are "http://ww...", some are absolutely fine.

I just wonder what’s in the URL bar of the browser in the case of Scott and Phil. The DNS for http://ww.audio-talk.co.uk will work.

DNS works but Chrome blocks it because the site uses HSTS and HTTPS can't be established as the certificate doesn't match...

Exactly - but although the site name resolves that's nothing to do the connection protocol, http or https - you still can't connect the SAN in the site certificate is only for audio-talk.co.uk & www.audio-talk.co.uk and you enforce TLS ... as we've been discussing... it's an odd one !

That's interesting - which one allows that? Not very secure if it ignores the domain match - defeats the whole point of HSTS...

Edit: Chrome certainly blocks it, but I just tested it on Safari on a new iPad and it connected. That's not good - I expected better from Apple. Edge and Internet Explorer also allow http...

Anyway, this is a secondary issue - the notifications are certainly odd... sometimes...
