Wonderful guy, great loss to the scene. The documentary about him from a few years back is a joy to watch. ( 'A life in music' ? )
My friend Jon from work said he was his inspiration when he was learning , he's quite upset.

I too very much enjoyed the documentary and also his masterclasses, some of which were repeated recently. How sad but at least he had a good innings.

Julian Bream was my inspiration to learn guitar. Unfortunately there are no "realistic" recordings (from an audiophile view) of Mr. Bream. The recordings all make the guitar HUGE instead of intimate.
Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.
