#1 Cheap integrated on ebay, with MM stage. Opinions?

Post by adrian »

Dear all
recently moved and now wondering about fiddling with a new amp. Wondered if anyone has an opinion on this, particularly the valve line-up:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HiFi-Valve-T ... Sww8de0Fxo

If the link does not work it is listed as "HiFi Valve Tube Amplifier MM Phono Turntable Power Amp Class A Stereo Audio Amp".

£147 inc shipping! Anyone know what I might be stung for at customs, if intercepted?

Thanks

Adrian

Are you that desperate ?

I dare say it would work, but is 3W enough ? Did the Chinese ever get over the 220V problem ?

BTW, nice to hear from you again.

As you’re post company will have used their deferment account they name their price which will be the 20% duty + their fee or you don’t have to accept it the parcel which you kiss goodbye to.

Thanks Paul and Phil
It is 6w I think. Enough for Colin's Edingdales, which I now have I reckon. Could be ok with some Kiwames etc

Second that.
Treat it like it's £149 for a chassis and a front panel.
I heard a 'bargain' KT120 SE amp recently. It had :
Poor bass because of the power supply / output transformers.
Poor midrange tone and treble resolution because of the poor output transformers.

My chip-amp using a £3.50 TDA7297 board from China, and £50 of box and PS parts is a better amp.
