The baffles have been tweaked. :)

Main change is a 2R resistor on the Alpair 12P instead of the R47 used at Owston.

I'm evaluating the resultant sound now, but initial impressions are positive.

About one and a half Ohms worth, perhaps!

Indeed Andrew, all those curries and beer recently have not dulled your mathematical competence.

Now that the ESL57s are safely tucked up at Nicks I've resurrected my OB speakers.

After a few tracks they seem less accurate than the ESLs, a tad bright and forward it seems, but not unpleasant.

Perhaps my ears will re-adjust to how they sound ?

More music will help.

You’ll get used to them Phil. The mid of a ‘57 is still pretty much unmatched though, if they’re set up right.

Sure are Ali. :)

I've been having a think about the "brightness" problem with the baffles, and as the 50W single ended mosfet amps have a hum problem (due to how they are positioned) I thought I'd try a different amp.

My chip amp was no better, so now I've gone back to the KT66 (as a triode) single ended monoblock amps. These were built with much help from Mike H (thanks again Mike) and have been used to drive the 833a trolley amps.

Anyway, they are now up and running with the result of taking the edge off the brightness, much better. :D Last day for Christmas music so making the most of it.

I'd like to try something like Steves 13E1 OPT less amps, but I'm fairly sure I'd need more power.

Ah right - very good.
They do have a bit of a lump in the response at 2.5 to 3kHz I suppose - where you might want it flat or a slight dip.
