Having a clearout
So I thought I’d test the water in case anybody here is interested.
Ultimately I suppose I will have to split this on ebay but for now it’s a job lot, no split.
So:

The original 572 amp on breadboard
as usual I have to stress/point out these are Svetlana SV valves and not 572B etc

Valves: 2x 12ax7
2x 12au7
2x sv811-3
Spare pair matched sv811-3 nib
Opt: 2x James 6123
Ps: choke input 2x Hammond 159p, 1x BLS 600v 150ma TX
2x Rod Coleman Hv filament supply + heatsinks
-60 to -120 adjustable bias supply
2x Meanwell type 12v SMPS

I haven’t touched it since last demo’d at Owston so should go straight into a chassis as is.

£150 complete

As well(separate sale):

Matched pair sv572-3 nib
Matched pair sv811-3 nib

£75

Others I have found but not thought about yet:
Matched pair Svetlana el34 nib
3x GE 5u4GB nib
2x 71a used I think untested
2x Shuguang 2A3C nib (I may keep these as spares with 2A3 amp when sold in due course)
1x Bluebell 5R4GY nib
3x used KT88 unknown use, free with postage in due course

Hi Ed
I'd like the breadboard amp please, if that's not what Ant is after.

Cheers

Hi Ed
I understand.

It will be interesting to see how it progresses under Ants ownership.

Cheers
Richard

Between Ant and his old man they should be able to make a pretty looking retro-style amp...

let's hope so...
totally ironic because Steve had the chassis and slow start/led module from the original before it had smps for the heater boards...

This was the original I was going to use when I had plans to put it all back into a chassis. It was bent by the chap that did all my firstwatt chassis and was sized to accomodate the meanwells, attached to wooden cheeks. It got shoved under the workbench when my love affair with valves ended and all motivation evaporated.

its got the b1 infront of it, i have a couple of passives but i couldn't be bothered to go find them. its startlingly quiet too

warming up nicely, I want to get a feel for what gets hot and what doesn't before i start planning a chassis or two for it.
It'll be a long term thing, it can't remain a breadboard as much as i like the steampunkt frankenstein aesthetic

thankyou ed, a very sweet amp

She is not particularly amused. Put it that way...

She did however request mezzanine by massive attack, after id played ceremonials by florence and the machine, and clapton unplugged.

She actually picked an album of torture tracks to try to trip it up
Didnt work though

Suggestion for a single box for it below:
Thomas Mayer (Vinylsavor) method.
Make a frame, with internal shelves (you could use threaded rods for the corner supports) then stack the different sections in layers,
Vent slots as appropriate in base and top plate for convection.
Then cover the frame with a wooden case and put some short legs on it.
In reckon it would look great as a floorstanding setup in the room corner.
