#1 FS: Twisted pear Opus DAC

Post by Ray P »

I have too many DAC projects!

Twisted pear Opus DAC board (Version 2). Thus is an assembled board using the Wolfson WM8741 chip. It has balanced voltage outputs so no I/V stage required.

Information and a picture here;

http://www.twistedpearaudio.com/digital/opus.aspx

and there's a thread about it here;

https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/twisted ... d-dac.html

You'll need a couple of 5V regulated supplies and a means of getting I2S data into it (maybe a RPi streamer or, if you prefer spdif, something like the TPA transciever http://www.twistedpearaudio.com/digital/wm8804.aspx)

£25 shipped within the UK
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Hi Ray, am I right in thinking this should support up to 192kHz/24bit (with the right USB to i2s interface) ?

Cheers.

Yes Dave. Here's a link to the WM8741 datasheet;

https://www.sowter.co.uk/dacinfo/WM8741.pdf

Outputs are differential voltage - no I/V required.
