I shall have to go to this as a seller.

If you want a stall

http://www.nvcf.org.uk/booking.htm

When I was a buyer Richard Leon and some others used to get there early paying extra to get the bargains.

On that side of things what happens is people don't know what they've got, you've got to get to them before the other dealers. If you hired an empty table, went and bought off the ignorant to fill it and stayed for the day you would do well. Unless you're ignorant also.

I shall be selling.

Unless at 7 am someone is sitting on a box full of balloon px25's he isn't sure what to do with.

Hmm, looks like a good event to visit, probaly as a buyer in my case (I don't have enough stuff yet :-), but the getting there early tip is worth remembering.

If you go early sometimes there are people hanging arround outside with tickets to sell. I think they are stallholders who didn't need the privilage of an assistants pass for £20.

I shall be needing mine as can't manage it alone. Will have to have everything priced though, that'll be a chore.

It doesn't matter what time you get in, the real dealing will have been done and dusted well before the doors open.

Darren, I know what you mean, but both times I have gone and paid extra to go early I have scored some real bargains like 5 px4's a pair of 212's. Later in the day everything like that is gone and all the leak and quad amps have stabilised on a same price level around the room. At least going early you stand a chance, going in at 10 am it'll be like going to a shop to buy your quad 57's etc, the dealears will have relieved the ignorant of them and will price them at shop prices for the rest of the day.

Great Steve. See you there.

but then if you're looking for something that has not been recognised as a worthy item yet.......or you spot something and think 'i'll give that a go in such and such a place'......

Paul,

are you intending going to this event as a seller?

If so is there any chance you could take and sell my Quad57s for me? For a suitable commission of course.

Philip,
I would like to think they are worth £500.
One Thing audio refurbished when i bought them. Now on cherry wood pedestal stands and cherry surrounds but I have the original beech surrounds and little feet stored away.

Hi Everyone - just joined
Paul, is this fair at Warwickshire Exhibition Centre and not NEC, or are they they the same? Excuse my ignorance. Also is there not a similar fair which concentrates more on audio stuff rather than communications equipment?

Hi Les, a blast from the past.

Its at nec afaik (but I was wrong it's at Warwikshire Exhibition Centre)

it is very much audio related, usually loads of valves and quad 57's linn amps lowther horns quadII's early bird gets the worm, and he usually gets off the plane from Japan.

It is the even where I have always bagged the best audio and valve stuff.

I've come home with a bag of px4's a px25 a pair of nos 212's before now.

Obviously if you go looking for stuff like that you don't turn up with tuppenshalfpenny in your pocket.

First year I went darren had just allerted me to the 212, we actually bought a pair of v1505's between us, as I prepared to go to nec I thought "better take enough money in case there are some 212's". Low and behold Jim Fish had brought a apair. I couldn't disguise my excitement. Naturally I relieved him of them. Seek and ye shall find.
