I use anode chokes in various builds, mainly 200H versions.

Would a 500H anode choke be "better" ?

It might! It depends on the circuit and what you are trying to achieve...

Drawbacks of a bigger choke might be to large a dcr - and too little current handling ability...

Advantage is that it copes with a higher driving impedance...

so sometimes an advantage and sometimes a disadvantage :D
